Lees Summit Autism Support Group

Even though autism is in our name, we represent children of all disabilities.  We are a 501c3 non-profit corporation with the state of Missouri.  We help parents get the education and skills they need to advocate for their children with the public school system.

We are a source of information to find the right service providers, doctors, and therapists to make the progress your child needs to get a quality education so they can the most of their potential and strive right along with their non-disabled peers.

Benefiting Our Community

Our group can improve outcomes for our children, provide resources to schools and parents, and provide advocacy for families that need it.

Our group can benefit the community by attracting parents to the district, producing parent leaders, and providing parent education and support beyond the borders of the district.

Our members attend IEP meetings with parents, help parents find resources outside the district, and explain the complexity of federal and state laws that make up public education law.

Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at the Firefighters Union Hall at 322 S. Douglas in downtown Lee's Summit.  We meet from 7 - 9:30 pm.  Please remember that you are not alone.  Autism and other disabilities are on the rise.  Spend time with parents who know how you feel and have been where you are.  Whether your child has just been diagnosed or you are an old pro at this, there is power in numbers and knowledge.
